David Lochner became known to a wider public by his documentary/feature "Kyrgyzstan" which being broadcasted in Germany in 2007 was very successful. Since that time he has been active as a director, composer and scriptwriter for linear and nonlinear entertainment.

As an author for virtual Worlds and Games he is specializes in the connection of linear, cinematic storytelling technique with interactive decision and play elements. Therefore he works since 2009 as a "Lead Interaction Designer" and "Honorary Scientific Director" for the research project Gamecast TV which develops the connection of video games and animated TV formats.

Since 2011 he works and teaches for the European Virtual Academy as an lecturer/Dozent in "Storytelling in virtual environments".
