David Lochner became known to a wider public by his documentary "Kyrgyzstan through different eyes" in 2007. Since that time he has been active as a director, composer and scriptwriter for linear and nonlinear entertainment.

As an author for virtual worlds and games he is specializes in the connection of linear, cinematic storytelling technique with interactive decision and play elements. Therefore he works since 2009 as a "Lead Interaction Designer" for the research facility Gamecast which develops the connection of video games and animated TV formats.

Since 2011 Lochner teaches and lectures at different universities. Currently speaking at the European Virtual Academy in Romania and the University of Apllied Sciences in Saxony his course "Storytelling in virtual environments".
